Visions Smart Glasses · Last updated 30 August 2026

This policy explains what the Visions app does with your information. It is written to be read, not to protect us — where something might surprise you, we have said so plainly.

The short version. Photos, videos and voice recordings from your glasses stay on your phone. We have no servers that store them and no way to see them. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind. The only thing that leaves your phone is a message you type to the AI assistant.

Who we are

Visions Smart Glasses is published by Level Innovations. If you have a question about this policy or about your information, contact us at info@levelinnovations.co.za.

What the app handles, and where it goes

InformationWhere it goes
Photos and videos captured on your glasses Your phone only. Transferred from the glasses over Bluetooth and WiFi and stored in the app. Never uploaded to us or anyone else.
Voice recordings made on your glasses Your phone only. Same as above.
Messages you type to the AI assistant Sent over an encrypted connection to a server we operate, which passes them to Anthropic, the company providing the AI model, and returns the reply.
Your glasses' name, Bluetooth address, battery level and firmware version Your phone only. Used to show you the device and keep it connected.

That is the complete list. The app has no user accounts, collects no name, email address, location or contact details, and contains no analytics, advertising or tracking software of any kind.

The AI assistant

When you type a message on the AI tab, that message is sent to a server we run and then to Anthropic, which generates the reply. Anthropic processes it to answer you. Under the terms we use, message content is not used to train their models — you can read Anthropic's own privacy terms at anthropic.com/legal/privacy.

Do not type anything into the assistant that you would not want leaving your phone. It is not a private notebook, and it is not a suitable place for patient-identifying information.

In this version of the app, the voice assistant and the "Hey Visions" wake word are switched off, and no audio and no images are sent anywhere. If that changes in a future version, this policy will be updated before it ships.

Partner integrations

Visions can be connected to partner software — for example a clinical system used by a health provider — so that their system can request a photo or video from your glasses.

This is worth understanding clearly:

If you have given an address and key to a partner and want to stop them, tell us and we will help you change the key, which immediately stops the old one working.

Permissions the app asks for

PermissionWhy
BluetoothTo find and connect to your glasses. There is no other way to reach them.
Local networkTo transfer photos and videos from the glasses over their own WiFi, and for partner integrations.
PhotosOnly when you tap "Save to phone gallery". The app does not read your existing photo library.
MicrophoneFor the voice assistant. Switched off in this version and no audio is recorded by the app.
NotificationsTo tell you when a partner capture is waiting for you to approve.
LocationRequested on Android only, because Android requires it before an app may transfer files over WiFi. Your location is never read, stored or sent.

How long things are kept

Photos, videos and recordings stay on your phone until you delete them, either in the app or by deleting the app itself. We hold no copy and cannot recover anything for you.

Messages to the AI assistant are not stored by us. Our server passes them through and keeps no record of their content. Anthropic retains them for a limited period under their own terms.

Filming other people

Your glasses have a camera and a microphone, and the people around you may not realise it.

You are responsible for using them lawfully and considerately. In many countries it is illegal to record someone without their knowledge, and the rules are stricter in healthcare settings, schools, changing areas and private homes. If you are using Visions in a clinical context, consent to being recorded is your responsibility and your organisation's, and should be obtained before recording, not after.

Children

Visions is not designed for or directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Your rights

Because the app holds no account and we store no personal information, there is usually nothing for us to hand over or delete — your data is on your own phone, under your control.

If you believe we hold information about you, or you want to ask a question about this policy, write to info@levelinnovations.co.za and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in South Africa, you also have the right to complain to the Information Regulator.

Changes to this policy

If we change what the app does with your information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes — particularly anything that would send more off your phone — will be described here before the version that makes the change is released.
